The staff is friendly. The atmosphere is charming. The food is fabulous and the price is outstanding. This will always be a place I take family when they visit.
The best Mexican food I've ever had!!!
Good place. Historical site
This place is Corrales in a nutshell. John, the proprietor and bartender runs a very cool old school bar and restaurant in this 200+ year old adobe. The building has been in his family for 80yrs. The beer/wine/liquor selection is amazing; The owner is a true connoisseur of spirits and beer. Here you will find whiskey’s and beer you have never even heard of from all around the world. The food is also excellent; try the cheese burger (hand made patty of fresh ground beef) with a side of green chile stew. Another great menu item is the stacked enchiladas with an egg on top. Nice cozy ambiance with stoked fires in the winter and a cool patio right on Corrales Rd. In the summer. Waitresses are all super friendly and always there when you need something.
Great little spot for New Mexican-style breakfasts. Nothing fancy, very plain (but nice) and small on the inside. Service was quick (though it was mostly empty when we were there) and the food was really good and cheap. Chorizo was really good and so was my wife's breakfast burrito. Definitely recommend this place for a simple traditional or New Mexican breakfast.Positives: No frills, cheap and good! Have traditional and New Mexican style breakfasts.Negatives: None.
Fantastic Family Restaurant that has been there forever in an old adobe house. All of the food seems to be scratch made. Wonderful place
Waited over a hour and a half for food only 3 other tables occupied would have been a 1 but food was okay.
A real New Mexico gem. Super friendly people, cool historic atmosphere, and great food.
Great margaritas and food, with the friendliest owners and staff.
Really awesome food and fun staff!
Great food. Friendly staff. Very local, maybe too much so for out-of-towners
Great! As usual! Have been going there over 10 years, the last time we thought perhaps not often enough. That will change. We'll be back!
Great, authentic Mexican food, but check before going if it's a destination as hours when food is available seem inconsistent other than lunch.
Was mostly great, however, even if the kitchen was closed chips and salsa would have been welcomed...
One of the best New Mexican restaurants.
Homemade "Ma an Pa food...".didn't expect it when I drove by...what a surprise!!gotta know what u want tho!
Good food at a fair price. Everyone had an cheery attitude.
Some of the best new Mexican food I've ever had. The atmosphere is cozy and super friendly. You truly feel like part of the family. Plus, the beer menu is amazing.
Ordered a chimi with Chicarones....it was not deep fried like the menu states so I asked my server isn't this supposed to be deep fried and she replied it is....I said look its a regular tortilla and she replied the chili makes it soft. I could not believe her comment. They have the worst red chili in NM right there with Farmington. The Chicarones were so hard and dry they hurt my teeth and gums. Never again absolutly horrible. The soppapillas were awesome however.
Delicious! The waitress was so nice and went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. The owner was just as nice. The food was home cooked, no flavor enhancers, little salt so it left room for you to add salt to your taste. We left very satisfied and didn't feel bloated and sick the rest of the day so you know it's all natural. So nice to know that Perea's is there. A little ways to drive since it is in Corrales but soooo worth it.
Red Chili is from scratch using chili pods. Coolest place you can visit in the Village. The people here are amazing and the nicest you'll ever meet! They have tons of beers here so you're sure to find one that suits you.
Wonder place to learn about wine and beer. Just ask the owner John and get educated!
PLEASE NOTE, they close at 2pm each day. Wonderful staff and owner. Great rustic atmosphere. Locals are fiercely loyal to this place but I found the food bland with the only spices being the typical red and green chilies. I ordered tamales and also the beef green chili stew. I had a grandfather with stomach problems so grandma would cook using no garlic, no salt, no onion, no black pepper, etc. VERY bland. All this food tasted like hers to me. I'm from out of state, so I'm used to southern style cooking. If you love New Mexican style food, you may love it! Most other reviewers here do! Park in back, enter in side door to the left.
Very fun place to spend the afternoon!
Friendly, great New Mexican food (only for lunch sadly). Unique and historic decor.
This place is very friendly and an inhome feel about it. The place is always clean and the staff plus the food is amazing.
Food was delicious, definitely the green chili casserole is the best in New Mexico. Atmosphere was perfect. We rode our bikes here and enjoyed the afternoon. This is, hands down, one of the best kept secrets of Corrales!
I wish I could only give 2.5 stars, at least thats half of 5. 2.5 stars for charm, quaint, old style, originalitly, creativity, friendly and the 2 cozy fireplaces. Not impressed for the small portions, overpriced, microwaved, reheated, poor presentation and frozen plates they serve. My wife and I didn't even touch our plates after recieving our food. We immediately were disappointed, got up and left. I've been to too many restaurants, where I paid $12 a plate only to be served slop. Not this time world.
Amaaaaaaazing beef enchiladas, smothered in red and green chile. Super friendly owners and staff.
Very unique 2 hundred year old building with delicious food!
Great New Mexican food; very good beer selection.
Great hole in the wall burger joint. Try the green chile cheeseburger!!
Love the atmosphere and aroma out this historic place
Excellent food and service. Very friendly.
I love this place the food has a really good taste better than LA thanks
Great marguitas and lunch time snacks. Authentic new Mexican bar. Highly reommended
Taste of history and place to go if you want to learn about tequila
Home cooked yummy food. Great chicken enchilada casserole is over the top. Fast service . Just like Grandma made . Truly a New Mexico treasure.
Terrific Corrales restaurant. Good food, excellent service. We like to have lunch on the patio. Recommended.
I have been coming here for over 20 years. Just love all their food. And great service. Especially the green chili stew.
Loved the old Corrales atmosphere! Extremely friendly service and good food. The green chile cheeseburger was delicious! I'll definitely return!
Great little place in Corrales. Service was excellent, friendly people with good food that was delivered quickly. Good selection at the full bar.
If you've never been, you need to. Love this place, great staff, great food, and amazing atmosphere. The food is really good and quick. A really cozy atmosphere. For beer and wine lovers there is an amazing selectionof both in addition to the wide range of tequilas. You don't be disappointed.
Great service, atmosphere terrific, great food.
Was in town for a wedding and my uncle recommended this place. It was very good food. Would definitely go back.
Love this place thank you
Went there for the Green Chili Cheese burger. It was really bad. Meat was cooked hours before, very dry. The bun was flattened out. Room temp except for the heat used to melt the shredded cheese on top of the meat. Comes with........a bag of chips?! No fries?I make better at home and would be embarrassed to serve what I got.
If you like home cooked Mexican food without tons of salt and other bad stuff, this is your place. Rarely a wait, cozy fireplaces, excellent wine, beer and tequila selections. I feel like I'm eating with family and no dishes to wash! You can order tamales, tortillas, sopapillas and biscochitos for your home, too. Be sure to call a couple of days ahead so they have time to make them. ❤
Fun bar and restaurant.
Wonderful atmosphere, great food, and a favorite hang-out in the heart of Corrales. I've also attended events where Perea's did the catering... WOW.
